After 45 years, the Great Race of Eppie finishes its race

Saturday marked the end of an era for the Great Race of Eppie to Sacramento.

The late Eppie Johnson, who owned a chain of restaurants, started the triathlon in 1974.

Saturday's event brought out many beginners who wanted to be part of the race before he left. It was also a moving day for fans of the long-running race.
