The southern plains have been hit hard in the last two days: 56 tornadoes have been reported, 230 reports of damaging storms and nearly 9 inches of rain in Oklahoma.

Four people died as a result of the storm, including a woman who died in Perkins, Okla., After skirting a barricade and being washed away by floodwaters. Two other people died in a car accident during a heavy rain in Springfield, Missouri, according to the Associated Press.
Flash flood alerts extend from Montana to Missouri on Wednesday morning, with flood warnings mainly in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.

The storm system that caused all the bad weather and floods in the lowlands Tuesday will not move much, so that it could also result in more violent weather conditions, including tornadoes, from Oklahoma to Missouri .
Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma; Wichita, Kansas; and Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri, are all exposed Wednesday to the risks of high winds, hail and tornadoes.
