CARLSBAD, Calif. – Brian Cashman would not bite.
This does not mean that Scott Boras does not stop fishing.
The super agent, in an interview with MLB Network Radio, spoke of the idea that his best free agent, Bryce Harper, could move from the outside field to first base. This reverie seemed to have been designed for the Yankees, whose situation at first base remains uncertain because their field seems sufficiently supplied.
"Bryce has the feet, the hands and the skills to adapt to the first goal," said Boras.
At CEO meetings – at which Boras is expected to address the media on Wednesday – Cashman smiled and said, "I do not know" to the question of whether Harper could handle such a transition.
"He is obviously extremely talented and athletic," said Cashman.
"We will evaluate everything in the market and how it might suit us," continued Cashman. "I have not spoken to Scott yet, but I try to talk to everyone while I am here."
Obviously, the Yankees are concentrating their financial resources on launching launchers. They have re-signed CC Sabathia for one year and $ 8 million and aim to land two other high-end weapons.
