This is the penultimate episode of American horror story: Apocalypse and we have so much ground to cover. Meanwhile, in New Orleans, the coven safely waits at the Miss Robichaux Academy to determine her next move. Mallory (Billie Heavy) struggles to resuscitate a dead bird, which makes him believe that his powers are not ready to stop the apocalypse. She is absolutely right about it, but being surrounded by dead animals can not cheer her up. This spell has never been finished before and all who have tried are dead. For some reason, Mallory hears this and thinks: I want to go there. Thus, Mallory went to Siberia in 1918 to help a young witch, Anastasia Romanov, protect a protective spell around her family in order to prevent her from being murdered during the Bolshevik Revolution. In writing this, I realize how much this episode was turned left, but I'm on this train and I do not get off until I get to my stop (the final or Brooklyn, whichever comes first). Although I would like to emphasize how much these protection spells are useless: they can not protect the coven, they can not protect the Romanovs, a family in which I literally have no investment, the only thing that 39 they do is create a pretty, pretty, aesthetic purple, and I can get it with Urban Outfitters strobe lights.
