Al Roker defends his Halloween costume after social media users have accused Whiteface's weather anchor after the Megyn Kelly scandal.
Megyn Kelly, the former third-hour host of "Today," was absent from the festivities after defending Blackface last week in her just-canceled program, triggering massive controversy in the process.
Some viewers, however, wondered why it was acceptable for Roker to dress up as a Caucasian character, while Kelly eventually lost his job because of his remarks.

Another user wrote on Facebook: "Megyn Kelly loses her show because she was asking a question about dressing up as an admired color character if you are of Caucasian origin – and yet Al Roker dresses today as a beloved character of an iconic film that happens to be Caucasian. Is there hypocrisy in there? "

Roker used his own account on social media to respond to people who do not understand why his 80's themed outfit is not an example of a whiteface.
"I'll say it one last time, but those who understand it understand and those who do not will not," said the reporter. "I can be Doc Brown and I wear the outfit and the wig without changing my skin color.
"If you're white, you can be President Obama if you want – do not color your skin!"

Roker criticized his comments on Kelly's blackface after apologizing to his colleagues.
"The fact is, although she apologized to the NBC staff, she has to apologize more to the people of color in the country," Roker told the radio last week. "It's a story that goes back to the juggling shows of the 1830s, which was about deprecating and denigrating a race, which was not good."
"I'm old enough to have lived Amos And And, where black-faced whites played two black characters, amplifying the worst stereotypes about black men – and that's where the problem is. problem. "
