TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – Alabama running back Damien Harris suffered what his coach Nick Saban called a "mild" concussion in a 50-17 home victory over the Citadel on Saturday.
Harris, one of the best players and the best rider on the team, was very successful in the third quarter. The coaches treated him for several minutes, looking for a possible neck injury, but found none, according to Saban. He did not return to the game.
Harris led Alabama with 83 rushing yards in seven races on Saturday, including a 73-yard run. He now has 678 rushing yards this season, with seven touchdowns.
Offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood's twisted ankle, according to Saban. Safety Deionte Thompson 's knee injury, but Saban said that he did not seem to be acting from a serious injury.
Alabama had a hard time fighting La Citadelle, tied 10-10, before bouncing back in the second half to win by 33 points.
Tua Tagovailoa, who sustained leg injuries for a good part of the season, played and threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns. He made his 31st touchdown of the season, breaking the record of a season of Alabama previously held by AJ McCarron.
