When New York security officer Landon Collins stepped out of the secondary medical tent, slammed the frame supporting the blue cloth and toppled a garbage can Sunday, Giants fans could not help but assume the worst : the double Pro Bowl had failed the NFL Concussion Protocol and would not be able to play.
But he did not have it. He was angry about the whole process, starting with the first touchdown of the match by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and then the first defensive shots that Collins missed this season.
This has ended well for Collins, however. The Giants defeated the Bucs 38-35 and led New York with 11 tackles.
When Tampa Bay quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, scored on a run of one meter with 4:56 left in the second quarter, his knee had hit Collins' helmet and safety had risen shaking his head. He later explained that he expressed not to think that Fitzpatrick had broken the goal line, but not that his bell was ringing.
But the medical observer had seen Collins' reaction and after the extra point he had been asked to go to the medical tent. Even though he passed the concussion test, he still had to go to the locker room and, all that time, he missed five defensive shots.
"I shook my head because I was angry because they had made him a touchdown," Collins said in the locker room after the game. "The sideline saw it when I got up, I was still playing the next piece, I knew the call, I knew everything that was going on …
"What made me crazy, is that even after passing the test inside the tent, they made me come here. That's what we drove crazy. "
Collins was one of 29 former Alabama players who entered the field on the 11th Sunday of the 2018 NFL season.
Among the other Alabama alumni who started Sunday, there were:
· Right offensive tackle Andre Smith (Huffman) of the Arizona Cardinals in a 23-21 loss to the Oakland Raiders.
Atlanta Falcons catcher Julio Jones (Foley) caught six passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in a 22-19 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The 100-yard match was Jones's fifth in a row, the seventh of the season and the 46th of his career – the record for a player of his first eight seasons in the NFL (breaking the tie with Randy Moss). Jones caught a 34-yard touchdown pass while it only left Atlanta tied at 19-19, while it was 1:52 left to play, but the Cowboys scored a goal on goal in the win.

· Baltimore's Baltimore linebacker C.J. Mosley (Theodore) shot five tackles and had a 24-21 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
· Security Eddie Jackson of the Chicago Bears scored a 27-yard interception for a touchdown in a 25-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Jackson's touchdown came when there was only 5:30 left while the Bears advanced 14-6 to 22-6.

· Bengals left cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (Gadsden City) made two tackles against the Ravens.
· Houston Texans quarterback Kareem Jackson had nine tackles at the top of his team, recorded his first bag of the season and the second of his career and broke a pass during the first half of the season. a 23-21 win over the Washington Redskins. Jackson was credited for the third quarter dismissal on which Washington quarterback Alex Smith had a broken leg.
· Ryan Kelly's center of the Indianapolis Colts in a 38-10 win over the Titans of Tennessee. The Colts played their fifth consecutive game without allowing quarterback Andrew Luck to be sacked, but Kelly had to leave the match due to a knee injury. After the game, Colts coach Frank Reich told reporters that Kelly would be having an MRI on Monday.
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Marcell Dareus (Huffman) made a tackle in a 20-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
· Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Damion Square made two tackles and was injured in the quarterfinal 23-22 loss to the Denver Broncos.
· New Orleans Saints scoring midfielder Mark Ingram recorded his second consecutive 100-yard game in a 48-7 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. After being rushed for 104 yards against the Bengals last week, Ingram has amassed 103 yards and two touchdowns in his 16 defeat attempts against the Eagles. Ingram scored on a 14-yard run in the second quarter and a 1-yard run in the third quarter.
· Defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson of the Giants made six tackles against the Buccaneers.
Wide receiver Amari Cooper of the Raiders had three receptions for 36 yards against the Falcons.
· Tight end O.J. Howard (Autauga Academy) of the Buccaneers caught five passes for 78 yards against the Giants. Howard left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury when he was attacked from behind. Howard also made two tackles while the Tampa Bay quarterbacks launched four interceptions.
· Defensive wing Jonathan Allen, the Ha Ha-Clinton-Dix security team and nose tackle Da 'Ron Payne (Shades Valley) of the Redskins against the Texans. Clinton-Dix led 13 teams and forced a fumble recovered by Washington. Payne recorded a record of seven tackles. Allen made four tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage, but missed a bit of field time while being assessed for a concussion. He passed the test and came back.

Falcons Wide catcher Calvin Ridley scored three receptions for 32 yards and a 5-yard run against the Cowboys.
· Ravens cornerback Anthony Averett, center Bradley Bozeman (Handley), cornerback Marlon Humphrey (Hoover) and cornerback Cyrus Jones against the Bengals. Humphrey broke a pass to Cincinnati wide receiver Cody Core on a fourth pass that brought the ball back to Baltimore 1:42 to play and preserved his three-point win. Jones returned two kicks for 14 yards.
· Detroit Lions defensive end Da Da Shawn scored a tackle in a 20-19 win over the Carolina Panthers.
· Ronnie Harrison and the runner-up T.J. Yeldon (Daphne) against the Steelers. Yeldon had 23 yards in five races and 9 yards in two receptions.
· The Titans are in linebacker Rashaan Evans (Auburn High) and offensive midfielder Derrick Henry against the Colts. Henry ran for 46 yards in nine races. Evans made a tackle.
· Linebacker Ryan Anderson (Daphne) of the Redskins and linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton (Carver-Montgomery) against the Ravens. Anderson made four tackles

Williams linebacker Tim Williams, Lions forward A & C Shawn Robinson and Eagles guard Warmack were named inactive.
Quarterback AJ Raiders McCarron (St. Paul's) was active but did not play.
