Alan Taylor has signed an agreement for the production of "The Many Saints Of Newark" for New Line, a feature film screenplay written by David Chase that will serve as a prequel to his iconic television series, "The Sopranos", TheWrap has exclusively
Taylor won the 2007 Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding achievement of the episode "Kennedy and Heidi" of the sixth season "The Sopranos" and directed episodes of "The Sopranos" in four of the six seasons a spectacle.
In the 1960s, riots broke out in Newark, New Jersey, and conflicts between African Americans and Italians were at their worst. It is expected that several characters of the "Sopranos" will appear in the film, although New Line does not reveal any other details of the plot.

Lawrence Konner, who worked on "The Sopranos" with Chase, is listed as co-screenwriter for the project. Chase will also produce the film and participate in the director's selection. Nicole Lambert of Chase Films will be executive producer. New Line is the production company
"The Sopranos" is widely regarded as one of the biggest television series ever made, winning 21 Emmys from 111 nominations over its eight years from 1999 to 2007. It has was nominated for the outstanding drama series each year in which he was eligible, becoming the first cable network to win the award in 2004 and to win again for his last season in 2007.
Taylor's other credits include "Game of Thrones" , "Mad Men", "Boardwalk Empire", and more recently "Electric Dreams". On the features side, he directed "Thor: The Dark World" and "Terminator Genisys."
