MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins lost receiver Albert Wilson for the game and perhaps longer due to a leg injury Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
Wilson gave the Dolphins a 25-yard shot at the goal, but took a tricky step after being hit by a Lions defenseman. He was sitting for a few minutes with coaches before returning very slowly to the locker room. He seemed to be in pain, biting on a towel.
Kenny Stills was then injured late in the fourth quarter due to an incomplete pass and slammed into the locker room.
The Dolphins have completed their last workout with only two healthy and active receivers (Danny Amendola, Jakeem Grant). DeVante Parker has been listed as an inactive match day.
Wilson has been their most explosive player so far this season, leading the team in receiving yards (359) and leading the NFL after the capture (335) before the 7th week. six taken in last week's 31-28 win over the Chicago Bears.
In a separate room, an unsuspecting security officer at Hard Rock Stadium was crushed by Stills after touching a touchdown in the back corner of the end zone in the middle of the second quarter. Stills was running at full speed as he was completing his course and was catching and failing to avoid the security guard.
Lions cornerback Darius Slay pushed Stills out of the end zone to join the goalkeeper to force an incomplete pass. The security guard banged his head against the padded wall of the end zone when she fell to the ground.
The woman was injured and eventually returned to the locker room for further treatment. At one point, she grabbed her right arm while sitting down on the floor.
Stills, who was also injured in the shoulder during the game but came back to the game, returned to take care of the woman and gave him the ball as a sign of compassion.
