Las Vegas airline Allegiant Air is expanding its Florida footprint with nine new routes out of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, the airport and airline announced Tuesday. The nonstop routes, which are expected to bring an additional 160,000 passengers to Sarasota and Bradenton annually, will begin to roll out in February.

Allegiant, which has turned St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport into a major hub to the north, just began service out of Sarasota-Bradenton in April, and is growing quickly there as well.

“The addition of nine new cities will provide our community with many more ultra-low-cost options and we look forward to the continued growth and success of Allegiant at (Sarasota-Bradenton International).”Rick Piccolo, the airport’s president and CEO, said in a release.

The new routes include Asheville, North Carolina; Baltimore; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Cleveland; Columbus, Ohio; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Nashville, Tennessee; Richmond, Virginia; and Syracuse, New York. As part of the launch, the airline is offering promotional pricing on one-way tickets to the new destinations. For more information, visit allegiant.com.
