Allegiant, a low-fair airline, will begin non-stop flights from Syracuse to Sarasota, Florida, starting in April 2019, officials said.

Flights will travel from Syracuse Hancock International Airport to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport as of April 3rd. New flights year-round will operate twice a week.

The Sarasota Airport is located 21 km from Sarasota on the southwest coast of Florida.

One-way fares starting at $ 65. The flights are to be purchased by Wednesday for flights until August 2019, the airline said in a statement.

"Allegiant continues to be a great partner for the airport and central New York community," said Christine Callahan, Executive Director of Syracuse Hancock International Airport. "The addition of a new non-stop service to Sarasota / Bradenton, Florida will allow with a new, inexpensive option on Florida's beautiful beaches."

The discount airline based in Las Vegas recently launched non-stop flights twice a week between Syracuse and Punta Gorda Airport, 35 km north of Fort Myers, Florida. These flights are put into service Thursday.

Allegiant also offers Syracuse service in Sanford, St. Petersburg-Clearwater and Fort Lauderdale Florida; Myrtle Beach, S.C .; and Nashville, Tenn.
