CRÊME PHILADELPHIA – Alshon Jeffery has spent most of the last seven months as a margin viewer, an observer on the practice field, unable to play as he recovered from shoulder surgery.
It was the sacrifice that he had made last season. After suffering a torn shoulder in the preseason, he opted against surgery and played all season. He did not miss a single match, led the team to receive and capped touchdowns with excellent performance in the Super Bowl.
He had surgery in February, and he just came back to practice this week, and even then only a limited ability.
Jeffery missed the Eagles game against the Falcons. he will miss the second week against the buccaneers.
On Friday, Jeffery met the media for the first time since speaking with NJ Advance Media in April. At the time, he said that it would be "safe" to return for week 1. This did not happen. On Friday, Jeffery expressed his frustration for his prolonged absence. Still, he would do it again.
"If I had to do it again, I would do the same thing," Jeffery said. "It worked, I'm fine."
Here are some of the remarkable things that Jeffery said after Friday's practice, the last one before Sunday's game in Tampa Bay.
