Today's Senate hearing involving Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford has drawn the masses to television screens across the country and inspired survivors of sexual assault to present their own stories.

And inside the room, actress Alyssa Milano, a prominent figure in the #MeToo movement, was present at the hearing and could be seen sitting behind Kavanaugh as he made his opening statement.

Earlier Thursday, the actress tweeted a photo of the hearing and voiced her support for Ford, who accused Kavanaugh – a US Supreme Court nominee – of assaulting her sexually at a rally in 1982.

"I thought I needed to be there to show my solidarity with Dr. Ford," the Italian daily ABC News said Thursday. "That day, it will be very difficult for her."

Milan also recorded part of the hearing during which Kavanaugh interrupted a senator during the interrogation. In the caption she wrote, "If a woman screamed, interrupted and cried while being questioned, people would call her badly or say she had a fit."

Meanwhile, people on Twitter have been impressed by Milan's icy look at Kavanaugh's questions.

As a result of Kavanaugh's allegations, Milano was one of many women to share stories of sexual assault that they chose not to report. She shared her story in an essay for Vox.
