In case the name is not a pretty important gift, the only products you find in this brick and mortar store have a rating of four stars or more on Amazon. It's a nifty way to convince customers that everything they buy will not disappoint.

If you are in the SoHo neighborhood of New York today, on Spring Street, between Crosby and Lafayette Streets, you will be able to visit the latest concept of Amazon Brick and Mortar Store. He calls Amazon 4-Star.

The 4-Star idea is simple: create a physical store in which customers will be offered a range of products all four stars or more on Amazon.com, ranked among the best sellers and new models. The products available come from Amazon's most popular shopping categories, including Amazon devices, consumer electronics, cooking, home, toys, books and games.

We usually see Amazon.com's other recommended products under "Wanted" and "Frequently Purchased Together," and Amazon extends this idea in-store to see products stacked next to each other on the shelves if they are bought together regularly. As this is a New York store, there is also a range of products dedicated to the "best selling around NYC", suggesting that if the 4-Star is popular, each store will respond a little to his availability.

This is the wealth of data that Amazon has access to, it can even indicate the average revision rating of all products in the 4-star store. On the opening day, there are apparently 4.4 stars. There are also small cards next to products with reviews taken from Amazon.com listings.

If you would like to visit Amazon 4-Star, the store is open from 10:00 to 21:00. Monday to Saturday and from 11h to 20h Sundays. Be aware, however, that every product in the store has two prices. If you are a primary member, you will pay the Amazon.com price, but non-Prime members will pay the regular price. Of course, I'm sure there will be a lot of encouragement to sign up for Prime while you're there.
