Amazon Prime members can see Aquaman a week earlier in participating cinemas

Amazon Prime members will be able to watch Aquaman in movie theaters up to six days before its official release in the United States. Each subscriber will be able to purchase up to 10 tickets for a screening at 7pm on December 15th, just under a week before the official opening of the film on December 21st.

The promotion continues Amazon's historically friendly relationship with cinemas, which contrasts with its rival Netflix. In addition to the previous partnerships that saw Jumanji's first screenings in 2017: Amazon also tended to release its original films in cinemas before integrating them into its streaming service. At the same time, Netflix has tended to cut movie theaters out of its major releases, a decision that has faced critics of the film industry and excluded it from major film festivals – though it has changed its policy of releasing Roma this year.

The first screening of Aquaman can be viewed early in approximately 1,000 participating cinemas in the United States, including AMC, Regal, National Amusement Theaters and ArcLight Cinemas. December 15 is not as early as the release date of the film in Europe and China (between 7 and 14), but it is unlikely that it will count for the biggest fans of the universe cinematographic of DC.
