Amazon could not have gotten tired of the Miami sun.

Representatives of the affiliate looking for a place to set up the company's second headquarters, HQ2, have recently made a new visit, according to a South Florida Business Journal report citing three sources.

The visit probably took place in September, but few other details as to why or what sites the company visited are available.

Amazon did not immediately respond to a Business Insider comment request.

This is the second repeat visit to a city on Amazon's list of candidates selected by HQ2, the list of 20 cities published by Amazon earlier this year, that it plans to create a second headquarters for Amazon. $ 5 billion and 50,000 jobs.

Representatives of the company traveled to Chicago following the second visit to its headquarters in August in Chicago, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Amazon declined to comment on this report to Business Insider.

According to Tribune's report, the visit had been organized so that representatives could see the site of a new 62-acre development called The 78. Located in the South Loop, it is the only 39, one of the last large undeveloped land near the city center.

This could make it attractive for Amazon, which specified in its RFP that it wanted an urban campus for its second seat, just like its original campus in Seattle.

Amazon visited four other potential head office sites during its previous trip to Chicago this year, but not this one.

Both tours of the city are noteworthy as these are the only repeat visits that have been reported so far, and they are arriving late in the process as Amazon has announced that it will make its decision to go back. here the end of the year.

A second visit to such a crucial moment in the QG2 process could open the door to QG2 speculation. Although most analysts and experts rely on northern Virginia as the winner, visits to Chicago and Miami could suggest that the decision is far from being complete.
