Amazon's way to society at all with Brad Stone (podcast) – Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN)

One of the many anecdotes that I have left The store of everythingwhom I would call the book on Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) so far, is the way that Bezos has not borrowed (you can read my review of the book here). He was planning to name Relentless.com. Relentless is an adjective, and although it's a good trait to have in life, it would have been worse as a brand for several reasons. I say that because Amazon evokes greatness, expanse, a little mystery and magic, and something elemental. Relentless evokes rancor and courage, as well as all those useful traits that sometimes lead people to think that they have succeeded in a more solitary way than they actually did. .

This evocation of extension, mystery and elemental is what happened to me after our conversation with The store of everything author, Brad Stone. We spoke to him to launch our November mini-series covering Amazon on Behind the Idea. Stone knows as much about Amazon as anyone, and has just published an entertaining article about Amazon's efforts in India (which, as we discussed, could be a commendable effort for their biggest failure). So we thought it was a good time to talk to him.

The main themes we will be discussing the rest of the month on the podcast are:

  • Jeff Bezos and the key risk
  • Is Amazon too big?
  • Financial Statements of Amazon
  • Amazon – long or short?

With Brad, we focused on the first two topics, which fit together perfectly. We started discussing Amazon's growth and the question of whether there were potential short-term limits and whether they constituted a natural extension of the company's business plan. He also gave his perspective on the news waiting for the QG2, before the last reports appear on the weekend and Monday. We then touched on the subject of Jeff Bezos: at what stage is he involved in the business sector, what makes him different and how should Amazon's investors better understand him? ? It made a funny conversation.

Topics covered:

  • Amazon's changes over the years – is it an evolution or a revolution? – 3h30 minute mark
  • The spread of Amazon, its effects and its possible limitations – 7:45
  • What's happening with HQ2? – 12:30
  • Chaos as a ditch? – 19:00
  • What sets Jeff Bezos apart – 22:00
  • Amazon in China and India – 26:00
  • Bezos' involvement and misconceptions about Bezos? – 30:00
  • Who is Jeff Bezos? – 34:30
