An AMBER alert was issued in southern California shortly after 1 pm Saturday for a child kidnapped from Vancouver, Washington.

A 4-year-old mother was taken away by her mother on Thursday afternoon. Today, local police are asking for help, according to KGW8 in Portland, Oregon.

The girl was being court-supervised with her mother, Esmeralda Lopez, at the Vancouver Mall when she was taken away, KGW8 said.

The 4 year old name is Aranza Lopez.

She was last seen wearing a dark blue, long-sleeved shirt with a bulldog on the front, said KGW8. Aranza also wore pink pants and patrol shoes.

Esmeralda, 21, is also a person of interest in a robbery committed at about the same time as the kidnapping.

The last time she saw her, she was wearing a red and white striped football shirt.

Based on the history of the mother, the police fear for the safety of Aranza.

The car that Esmeralda used was described as a red Chevrolet Cobalt.

He has a Washington license plate that reads "BLK1552."

Los Angeles was one of 26 counties to have issued the AMBER alert, according to CHP.
