VANCOUVER, Wash. – An Amber alert was issued Saturday in California to help find a 4-year-old girl allegedly abducted by her mother Thursday afternoon in Vancouver.

Aranza Ochoa Lopez was on court-supervised visit with her mother, Esmeralda Lopez Lopez, at the Vancouver Mall on Thursday afternoon when she was taken, according to Vancouver police.

Esmeralda has been described as a 21-year-old Hispanic woman, 5 feet tall, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a red and white striped football shirt, police said. According to Amber Alert, Esmeralda was last seen driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt bearing the Washington BLK 1552 license plate number.

Authorities said that, based on the history of Esmeralda, they had reason to fear for the safety of Aranza.

Police believe that Aranza was wearing a dark blue long-sleeved shirt with a bulldog on the front, pink trousers and "patrol" shoes.

Esmeralda is also a person of interest for a kidnapping and robbery that occurred late Wednesday night or Thursday morning in Vancouver, police said.

Anyone who sees Esmeralda is asked not to approach him, but to call 911.
