An Amber alert was issued after the kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl from North Carolina outside her home before school, local police said.

Hania Noleia Aguilar, an eighth grader, was kidnapped Monday at Rosewood Mobile Home in Lumberton shortly before 7 pm, said Lumberton Police Chief Michael McNeil.

Hania seized her aunt's keys to be able to light the car before going to the bus stop when a family member saw a man dressed in black, wearing a yellow bandana on his face, who approached her and forced her into the vehicle, police said.

The suspect then stole the car and left with it, the police said.

The aunt's stolen car is described as a 2002 Ford Expedition Green bearing the South Carolina license plate number, NWS984. The car peels off the hood and wears a Clemson sticker on the rear window, the police said.

The investigators are desperate to take her home and question witnesses, their families and friends, and search the neighborhood, McNeil said.

Anyone who sees Hania or the car is urged to call the Lumberton Police Department at 910-671-3845.
