A tourist from the Bahamas was attacked by a shark while fishing at the line.

An American tourist is being treated in a Florida hospital after being attacked by a shark while fishing in the Bahamas.
The 32-year-old Massachusetts native, whose name has not yet been published, was bitten Sunday in the Treasure Cay area of Abaco Island, WFTV reported.

The woman had been spearfishing and was returning to her boat with a speared fish when the shark attacked, causing a severe trauma to her left hand. She was with three other people, but no one else was hurt, according to ABC News.
She was airlifted to a hospital in Fort Lauderdale where she recovered. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
She told the authorities that she "was not angry at the shark because the attack is a common risk with spearfishing".
Abaco Fire Chief Colin Albury told ABC News that it was the first shark attack in the region this year.
A shark attack killed Arthur Medici, 26, earlier this month on a Cape Cod beach in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.

The young man was bitten while he was boogie about 30 meters from the beach. A friend dragged Medici ashore after the attack, where an emergency CPR was performed. He died later of his injuries in a nearby hospital.
Despite these recent incidents, shark attacks are not so common. According to the annual Shark Attack Summary, 155 incidents of suspected interaction between man and shark occurred worldwide in 2017, with the United States being the most affected.
