America's Got Talent: Courtney Hadwin plays with The Struts

Courtney Hadwin is a mini Janis Joplin!

The 14-year-old singer from Durham, England, joined The Struts for an unforgettable collaboration in Wednesday's final. America has talent. With a performance of the band's song "Could Have Been Me," Hadwin channeled his musical idol by airing the lyrics of "Piece of My Heart."

Howie Mandel, who chose Hadwin to win the gold medal, already told him that she was reminding him of Joplin.

"Oh my God, you are not from that time. You come from another era, "he said before talking about how Clive Davis discovered Joplin. "I'm not Clive Davis, I'm Howie Mandel, and I can not sign you for a record deal. The only thing I can do for you, girl, is to give you [the Golden Buzzer]. "

In Tuesday's final, Hadwin exploded the audience with Tina Turner's 1988 classic River Tina – Mountain High.

"I have dreamed since I came very little to America. When I was 11 years old, I saw a video of James Brown and that changed everything, "said the teenager to his fans and spectators.

Although she said that her music idols were "really inspiring," Hadwin said, "I do not want to be Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, James Brown. I want to be myself. She added, "Because these are the finals, I will not hold back. I hope people will go to the Dolby Theater someday and say, "It's here that Courtney Hadwin played."

The new album of The Struts Young and dangerous will be published on October 26th.
