Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski were arrested Thursday during a Brett Kavanaugh demonstration in Washington, DC. The two women were among the hundreds of people who stormed the Capitol building and refused to leave a restricted area. The Capitol Hill police arrested them, along with many others.
Now, Schumer says, Ratajkowski took a lot of heat on social media – not because she was protesting against Kavanaugh, but because she was wearing the wrong garment during her demonstration. And it's true, fans of Ratajkoski started to twitter to complain that the top model was not wearing a bra during her arrest. You can see some of their tweets here:
Schumer said that Emily was "sacrificed" by being arrested and should not be attacked with "toxic energy"
On Saturday, Schumer was apparently fed up with all the criticisms Ratajkowski received for his dress. So, the actress tweeted a long statement defending her. Schumer wrote sarcastically: "In the manual" What to wear when you are detained for 4 hours a day 87 degrees after a walk of 2 hours ". Arms are not recommended.
Schumer also wrote: "Emily sacrificed herself to defend the right of women to choose what they do with their own bodies. Why not show him the same courtesy and direct some of this toxic energy to the people who deserve it?
She added, "Your comments are synonymous with telling a woman what she is wearing. [sic] bad behaviour. Did you write three furious tweets to, I do not know, maybe someone who sexually assaulted someone? I will guess no. You are reserving your rage for the victims or a beautiful woman who threatens you. "
Schumer also criticized Fox News, calling it "pure fiction"
Schumer wrote, "If you were actually listening to Dr. Ford, then Kavanaugh, you would have no doubt. That's why it's called an audience. So you can hear. But you did not do it. You broadcast your Fox News, pure fiction, and you decide. "
Schumer added that during her arrest, she herself was not wearing a bra.
