Apart from the approval of the most famous and most apolitical pop star in the world, there is really no easy way to register potential voters. As such, activists and celebrities had to be creative before the mid-term elections next month. Last week, for example, a promising link details behind the separation of Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson went viral, but everyone who clicked on it ended up on the Vote.org registration page. You have to wrap the vegetables in candy, and that's exactly what actress Amy Schumer did when she announced the news of her impending pregnancy.
It began with an Instagram post on Schumer's account, which featured her with her husband's head, Chris Fischer, stuck to the bodies of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who had recently announced the birth of their own child. This message directed fans to the journalist Jessica Yellin's page. You'll find a screen shot of the Notes app containing Schum's pregnancy announcement, well below his recommendations for the mid-term vote.
See below.
If you do not know, Schumer is the cousin of Chuck Schumer, the minority leader of the Senate (and the Donald Trump punch), with whom she has already advocated for tougher firearms laws. She was arrested earlier this month for protesting against the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, a Supreme Court judge.
"Chris and I are thrilled and almost positive, he is the father. I look forward to competing with Markle every step of the way, "said Schumer in a brief statement. The Los Angeles Times Monday.
Do not expect many announcements beyond that, at least not when there will be elections on the horizon.
