ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CNN) – Hundreds of students have realized their dream at the graduation ceremony of St. Petersburg College.

Congratulations to all graduates, but all eyes were turned to one, William Maillis, an 11-year-old who now has an associate degree.

M. Maillis said the trip was not easy. "It's about as difficult as anybody else to go there."

The humble child has left a lasting mark at the St. Petersburg College.

Dr. Tonjua Williams, president of the St. Petersburg College, had only nice words to say about Maillis: "I am totally fascinated by William and the work that he has done, he is extremely brilliant , very open and collaborative. "

William could do simple mathematics at one and a half years. At the age of four, he learned algebra and, at the age of five, a psychologist from Ohio State University declared him a genius

Now at age 11, he plans to continue to reach the stars.

He said, "I want to be an astrophysicist, I want to prove to the world that God exists through science."

He will attend the University of South Florida to realize this dream.

When it comes to his genius status, he does not feel any different from his peers, "I'm gifted for what I'm gifted and d & Others are gifted in other things "
