An Air Force pilot from Maryland killed in an accident

A pilot killed Tuesday during a plane crash in a Texas base is from Maryland, officials at Laughlin Air Force Base said.

Captain John Graziano was one of two pilots aboard the T-38 plane when he crashed on Tuesday.

Graziano, 28, was from Elkridge, officials said Laughlin AFB. He was an instructor pilot at the 87th Base Flight Training Troop. The 87th Flight Training Troop prepares student pilots and airmen for operations in a number of areas, Laughlin officials said. It organizes specialized undergraduate training courses for the US Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, the National Guard of the United States. air and allied air forces, officials said.

Graziano leaves behind his parents, sisters and brother, officials said.

Laughlin Air Force Base has posted a video on Facebook explaining the incident and the death of Graziano.

"Knowing that this tragedy is affecting everyone, my immediate concern is to make sure everyone in our Laughlin family feels good," said Colonel Lee Gentile, commander of the 47th Flying Training Wing in the Facebook video.

Captain Mark Palyok, second pilot, was injured in the accident and was released from hospital on Wednesday.

Laughlin Air Base officials are now investigating this accident.
