An Air India plane was damaged after hitting an airport wall during the takeoff of a Trichy-Dubai flight Friday, according to the same source. BBC and CNN.

The Boeing 737 (flight IX 611), carrying 130 passengers and six crew members, landed safely after being diverted to Mumbai.

The photos posted on social media showed the plane with a jagged belly.

And the wall seemed to have been beaten too.

Air India told the news sites that both pilots had been grounded, while waiting for an investigation, but that they already had more than 6,500 hours of flight time.

No injuries among passengers or crew members have been reported. Details on the extent of damage to the aircraft are unclear.

USA TODAY has contacted Air India for comments.
