A scientist accused of attempted murder in Antarctica stabbed his colleague because he "was fed up with the man telling him the end of the books," it was said.
The scientific engineer Sergey Savitsky, 55, became furious and stabbed welder Oleg Beloguzov, 52, with a kitchen knife.
It is believed that it is the first time that a man is accused of attempted murder in Antarctica.

The men had previously spent four difficult years at King George Island, a remote resort in Russia, located in the Russian resort of Bellingshausen, in the group of South Shetland Islands.
Russian investigators are looking for a version of the events in which the two men have become eager readers to spend solitary hours in this distant establishment.
But Savitsky had become furious that Beloguzov "does not stop telling his colleague the end of the books before reading them".

The injured man was evacuated to Chile with a knife in his chest.
His heart was injured during the attack and he was admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital, but his life would not be in danger.
The alleged aggressor was deported to Russia's second largest city, St. Petersburg, where he was immediately arrested and a criminal investigation opened.
