Carli Cronin, 30, died in a hospital, police said.

The "domestic dispute" began in the garden center, then the woman went to the store and shouted for help, police said on social media. Employees tried to intervene before the shots.

The suspect, 55-year-old David Johnson, escaped by bike and was caught by the couple nearby. He was shot and hospitalized, the authorities said. He should not survive, the police said.

Police told CNN affiliates that they were not sure of the couple's marriage.

Shay told WKMG, a CNN affiliate, "Walmart staff said they knew this couple because they shop there regularly."

The Ocala Fire Department said on Facebook that the rescue teams returned to the scene of the shooting to treat three people. An injured person while she was trying to flee the shooting was taken to the hospital.
