An asteroid the size of the statue of liberty has just passed very close to the Earth

November 25 was a busy day for the aliens. According to NASA, two asteroids are near the Earth and can be considered as a "near Earth object" (NEO). One of the NEOs, called 2018 VT7, is about 20 to 60 feet in diameter. This is a typical type of object that usually passes close to our planet.

However, the other NEO called 2009 WB105 is gigantic, measuring 170 feet and 400 feet in diameter. At its maximum calculated size, the asteroid is larger than the Statue of Liberty and longer than a football field.

The 2018 VT7 asteroid is approaching less than 3 million kilometers from Earth, which is considered close in cosmological terms. Fortunately, the largest asteroid will be at a distance of 3.5 million kilometers, so it will not be a concern for the Earth. Near-Earth objects are those bodies that are on a trajectory orbiting the Sun within a radius of 120 million kilometers.

Asteroids are formed of debris from events such as the birth or death of stars and planets, and most of the asteroids in our solar system are formed of inner planets such as Venus and Mars.

Another use of these near-Earth objects is to use them as resources because they contain hard-to-find minerals on Earth. There may be a way to extract these materials to generate rocket fuel and produce new spatial structures.
