An employee of Comerica Park was fired and arrested after being filmed spitting in pizzas on Friday.

The employee, who was not named, told colleague Quinell May that he was going to spit in the food. On May 17, he told the Detroit Free Press that he had filmed the act so he could show it to management. When he left his position to contact the management, he was fired for not having worked.

May said the incident occurred during Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals and that it was the first time that he saw such a thing at Comerica Park.

In a statement, Detroit Sportservice, who is taking care of Comerica Park, said the gas station had been shut down as soon as they had learned the falsification of food.

"As soon as we realized, through social media, the falsification of food, we immediately closed that booth, threw away all the product and contacted the Detroit Police Department., Pending charges Wrote Detroit Sportservice.

The Detroit Police Department could not immediately confirm the arrest.

Sportservice also stated that the employee in question had been fired. "Food safety is our top priority and we will take all necessary steps to protect our customers. The worker involved in this case was fired. We intend to pursue any legal action to the fullest extent of the law.
