GLADWYNE, Pa. –
A 9,000 square foot house exploded Sunday in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.
"Our whole house shook, we are about two or three kilometers from the road.We did not know what it was, a kind of explosion," said a neighbor who heard the news. ;explosion.

The explosion, caused by a gas leak, occurred shortly after 20 hours. on block 600 of Dodds Lane. Officials said that about 75% of the house had been destroyed during the blast.
After the explosion, WPVI received calls as far as 20 km in the south of Jersey signaling a boom and shaken houses. The sound of the explosion was captured by a security camera nearby.
"It looked like the biggest bomb of my life, it was so strong, and the commotion was so terrible, the whole house shook," said another neighbor.
Debris rushed into nearby trees and were left hanging from branches.
Nobody was inside the house at that time because the family lived in a shed at home. They were among the many to call 911.
The first responders rushed to the scene.
The call to police radio was announced as follows: "Large single family home that exploded. All occupants were taken care of at that time. "
The dwelling, a large six-bedroom house, was under construction.
"According to the information we have at this stage, the house is undergoing renovation, a significant part of the single-family residence has been razed and we have the help of the ATF and the Fire Marshal", said Michael J. McGrath, Lower Merion District Police Superintendent.
The last house was purchased in 2007 for $ 3.4 million and had been put on the market or not.
It was recently put on sale earlier this year for $ 1.8 million.
