Roger Washburn, 71, faces a battery charge after allegedly whipping his friend during a dispute over whether the popular artist was singing a song played at Washburn's home Friday in Greenwood, the Indianapolis Star reported.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office said it received a call from a man who said that Mr. Washburn, he and a third person, were listening to music when the incident occurred.
The man, who reportedly told the police that the trio had been friends for five decades, said Washburn was disputing the other man's claim that a song played was played by Bruno Mars.
When Washburn was shown evidence that he was wrong, the two friends quarreled and Washburn pulled out a firearm. The call was then allegedly flogged – the gun exploded – after calling Washburn an explosion, the man told the Indianapolis Star.
A police report seen by the newspaper indicated that when the police visited the house later, Washburn admitted to punching his friend in the face with a revolver .38 and was imprisoned for suspicion of
The police report stated that the victim suffered "a small cut on the right cheek, blood on his pants, a shirt and red abrasion on his right forearm," according to FOX59.
We do not know immediately which song of Bruno Mars triggered the dispute.
