Here are five drugs or medical devices approved by the FDA since November 2:
1. Dsuvia is an opioid version of a tablet that dissolves under the tongue for quick relief of pain. It is 10 times stronger than fentanyl.
2. Primatene Mist, which has been reformulated, is an over-the-counter inhaler for aerosol, intended for the temporary relief of mild asthma symptoms.
3. Udenyca, approved to reduce the incidence of infection by helping the body to make white blood cells after receiving anticancer drugs, is a biosimilar of Neulasta.
4. The Fluobeam 800 Clinic Imaging Device has been approved to help surgeons detect parathyroid tissue during surgical procedures to remove the thyroid or parathyroid gland. The device uses a light that causes the parathyroid tissue to emit a fluorescent glow.
5. The PTeye Parathyroid Detection System helps surgeons detect parathyroid tissue during surgery using a probe that emits fluorescent light.
