Anderson Cooper is fed up with online conspiracy theorists and "cable players looking to get into a mutually beneficial beef that will improve their ratings."
The CNN host grabbed Donald Trump Jr. late Monday after the president's son said Cooper simulated the depths of the floods in North Carolina in an effort to make his father look bad.
Trump Jr. tweeted a picture of Cooper standing in a flooded water at waist level while a film crew nearby was filming a little water. The only problem with the photo is that it was not taken during Hurricane Florence, it was taken ten years ago during Hurricane Ike.
"The idea that I'm kneeling in the water to make it look deep is downright silly," Cooper said before explaining why his crew was pictured standing on higher ground.
Cooper, who "has been hurricane for about 14 years," said he had been debating whether to respond to Donald Trump's son, particularly given the fact that he was not expecting that he "recognizes that he was wrong".
"I know he considers himself an outdoor man and pays a lot of money to be taken to wildlife in Africa, which he then kills, but I'm not sure he was really a hurricane or flood, "Cooper said. "I have not seen him go to North Carolina in the last few days, helping, but I'm sure he was busy doing something important besides tweeting lies.
