Andrew Benintendi, outlaw of Madeira High School, took a decisive dip to maintain a win of 8-6 Thursday morning against the Houston Astros, which allowed his team to win one of the victories following: World events.

"It was fun, I'm glad I caught it," Benintendi said afterwards.

TBS analyst Ron Darling did not like Benintendi to go 3-0 and steal a goal with a 10-1 lead in ALDS's third game against the New York Yankees York.

"Personally, I would find this offensive," said Darling when Benintendi committed a foul on a 3-0 pitch. And Darling said the base stolen by Benintendi with the same advance was "unusual".

Oddly, Darling said earlier in the game that no advance was safe against this Yankees team.

Benintendi scored twice – including a brace in the game, in the fourth inning of Boston in seven innings – in the 16-1 win that gave the Red Sox a 2-1 lead over ALDS.

In July, 24-year-old Benintendi lost the final vote of the American League for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game to Jean Segura of the Seattle Mariners. Benintendi was one of five finalists in the American League. The Red Sox encouraged fans at #VoteBenny, and even contacted Cincinnati Reds fans via Twitter to get votes for the guy from his hometown. Although the voting totals for the other finalists were not revealed, the MLB said Benintendi was second.

Benintendi hit .290 with 16 homers and 87 RBIs in the 2018 regular season – with 21 stolen bases and .830 OPS.

Benintendi appeared to break the non-hitter Sean Manaea, Aakland A's southpaw, in April, after he was declared cautious, after avoiding a Matt Olson mark on a first baseman. The decision was quashed after the referees met and said Benintendi was off the baseline, erasing his shot.

Benintendi was second to Yankees Judge Aaron last year in the AHL rookie vote.
