Andrew Gillum conceded his run for the governor a second and last time on Saturday night.

In a four-minute video posted live on Facebook, Mayor Gillum was alongside his wife R. Jai, a Tallahassee Park in the background, dressed in both green and orange from Florida A & M University. Gillum first thanked his supporters. Then he officially recognized Republican Ron DeSantis as the winner.

"R. Jai and I wanted to take a moment to congratulate Mr. DeSantis on becoming the next governor of the great state of Florida," said Gillum in the video published around 5 pm.

Shortly after Gillum tweeted about her dealership, DeSantis responded.

"It was a hard-fought campaign," DeSantis replied in a tweet to Gillum. "It's now time to reunite Florida."

More than 8 million votes were attributed to an automatic recount that ended Thursday afternoon. The final count was 4,075,445 for DeSantis and 4,041,762 for Gillum. Gillum stated that he and his wife wanted to make sure that each vote was counted.

"We wanted to make sure that every vote, including those who were under-voting and over-voting – as long as it was a legally-cast vote – we wanted these votes to be counted" , did he declare.

And Gillum does not intend to go completely out of the scene, he told viewers.

"Stay tuned in. There is more to come," he says. "The fight for Florida continues."
