Rep. Marsha Blackburn, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Tennessee, condemned a group of protesters forcibly removed from a Sunday rally, tying them to her Democratic opponent, former Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen.
“This Sunday afternoon, the liberal angry mob made it clear they are active in Tennessee and will stop at nothing to disrupt civil political discourse,” Blackburn wrote in a statement. “They resisted law enforcement, and they interrupted a moment of silence. Phil Bredesen is their leader, and their behavior is despicable.”
Blackburn also shared video online of one demonstrator kicking and screaming while being removed from her event in Nashville alongside Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

Graham has been stumping with GOP candidates across the country ahead of the 2018 midterm elections. The Senate Judiciary Committee Republican has also been touting his vocal defense of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his heated confirmation hearings.
As of Sunday, Blackburn is ahead of Bredesen by 6.5 percentage points in the last from RealClearPolitics’ poll aggregator.
