A pair of award-winning heavyweights is expected to lead a new Broadway revival of All my sons.
Annette Bening and Tracy Letts will participate in the production of the Arthur Miller Classic at the Roundabout Theater, confirmed EW, to begin performances next spring. All my sons is considered the play of the late Miller, a dramatic family portrait of the post-war era that explores the themes of greed, denial and morality. He won the Tony Award for best author (now Best Play) in 1947, and was recently relaunched on Broadway in 2008.
Bening and Letts will play Kate and Joe Kelle, the heads of a family struggling to stay together. The last time Letts appeared on Broadway in 2014 Jones Realists; the year before, he won Tony's Best Actor for his turn in a revival of Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? (He is also the playwright of August: Osage County and Nebraska Man, among others.) Bening, meanwhile, returns to Broadway for the first time in more than 30 years. His debut on the Great White Way, Coastal disturbances, earned her a Tony nomination for best actress in 1987.
This is not the only puzzle All my sons Revival in the works: at Old Vic in London, Sally Field and Bill Pullman will also be on the display of an original production next spring.
Gregory Mosher will lead the production of the roundabout, which will begin previews on April 4, before the official opening night of April 22.
