The iconic toy store, 70 years old, went bankrupt in March and spent the last few months liquidating its assets. The 700 stores across the country were scheduled to close down on Friday, laying off thousands of employees.

However, After the secret shopper cleaned up the toy store in Raleigh this week, workers showed up Friday to pack what was left of the store's inventory for the anonymous benefactor.

The store did not identify the person, reported the WNCN, and would only say that the employees packed the toys and loaded them into a truck for future donation.
