Anthony Davis, New Orleans star player, officially signed with Klutch Sports agent Rich Paul, after signing documents over the weekend.

Davis told ESPN Sunday that he hoped to raise pelicans to a new level this season and the change of agent is part of an effort to improve his overall game.

"My goal is to win every day and do everything I can to help this organization," said Davis. "By setting myself up every night as the best player on the floor."

The agency made the announcement on Sunday, and Paul's most prestigious client, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, then hosted Davis.

A star player changing agent can sometimes imply that he wants to change the team. Paul, who represents more than 20 NBA players, told ESPN that this was not the case and he planned to meet the Pelicans officials soon.

Last year, Paul negotiated a $ 207 million extension for star John Wall to stay with the Washington Wizards.

Davis will be eligible for a $ 235 million five-year extension with the Pelicans next summer. Davis, who averaged 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game last year, can become an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

"It's a pleasure and an honor to represent a player like AD," said Paul. "He is a transcendent talent and continues to establish himself as one of the dominant players in the game."
