Less than six months passed before the 2016 election and Donald Trump was aboard his private jet en route to a campaign rally in Albuquerque, New Mexico – but politics was his last concern.
In front of him, on a table, was the scattered contents of three big boxes of bankers stuffed with papers and files.
"Trump looked at them as I watch a large plate of pasta for dinner," said Anthony Scaramucci, Trump's director of communications at the White House, in his new book published Tuesday, "Trump: the president of the blue collar ".
Scaramucci, who had joined Trump's finance committee, was worried: there was only three hours left before his boss's speech.

"It seemed at least on television that the atrium was filled with adoring fans," wrote Scaramucci. "Some friends in the campaign had later learned that it was all smoke and mirrors. Scaramucci did not have the easy task once he followed Trump to Washington, D.C.
He writes that Steve Bannon, Trump's chief strategist at the time, threatened the former backer when he learned that his position as Director of Communications at the White House had been appointed on the 21st. July 2017.
"You have no chance of being the director of communications for the White House," Bannon told Scaramucci on the phone. "Zero."
But Scaramucci went to the office and Trump made it clear that he had to report directly to the president, find and dismiss those responsible for the leaks.

"You two are the biggest fugitives I know," he said, looking at Priebus and Bannon.
