Anthony Smith secures the rear throttle of Volkan Oezdemir

Anthony Smith ensures the naked victory against Volkan Oezdemir at the main event of UFC Moncton.

"My leg is pretty shaky right now," Smith said in his post-fight interview. "He's so strong, so explosive. So good."

Smith was asked who he would like to fight next, and he said that he wanted a title – no matter what.

Oezdemir says that he broke his nose and was unable to breathe during the fight.

TOUR 1

They touched gloves to open the first round. Oezdemir came out of his corner quickly but did not hit. Smith immediately fired and forced Oezdemir on the fence, but not on the mat. Oezdemir reversed the hold and now it was Smith against the cage. Both fighters landed on the body and legs, before separating and entering the middle of the octagon again. Oezdemir sent a series of hard shots to Smith, unanswered, before Smith could pull out of danger and regroup. Back in the center of the octagon, Smith and Oezdemir exchanged short legs before Smith could support Oezdemir a few steps with a combo. Oezdemir tried to put Smith back on the cage, but Smith managed to avoid the trap and turn around. They engaged in a combo where Smith accidentally stung Oezdemir and after a short break, the fight resumed. Once back in the circle, Oezdemir had a whim, but Smith did not seem affected. Oezdemir then began to unleash powerful kicks and strikes on the leg, placing Smith against the fence to end the round.

2nd ROUND

No glove contact to open the second round. They were slow to start the second round, but that is Smith who rushed on Oezdemir, almost knocking him down. Smith charged Oezdemir with a smooth punch and Oezdemir responded with a shot on the ground. With Smith on his back, he tried to choke in a triangle but failed to get the right position. Oezdemir began bleeding profusely and then got up, then grabbed Smith's back. From there, Oezdemir touched Smith in the face, but he managed to grab his hands to stop the pain for a moment. The two men struggled to find a good position on the field and, finally, Oezdemir was able to clinch a collision but lost it almost immediately. Just seconds away from Oezdemir was standing, but Smith was still standing.

3rd round

Oezdemir hit the first in the third round with a slight spike. Smith replied with a kick to the body, but louder and with much more intention. Smith put together a combination that seemed to hurt Oezdemir, he briefly covered and Smith seemed ready to end the fight. The two fighters exchanged their blows with Oezdemir, visibly more tired than Smith. Smith landed another hard right hand and then went to takedown and dragged Oezdemir toward the carpet. Smith was able to recover Oezdemir's back and tie the hooks that Oezdemir was unable to secure in the second round. Smith wrapped his arm around Oezdemir's neck, blood flowing. Oezdemir did not fight against choking and finally set foot in the final seconds of the third round.

The clash between Oezdemir and Smith was presented as a situation not to blink, as both fighters got eliminated in less than 30 seconds. Oezdemir has three superb knockouts, the fastest being a 15 second knockout at WKN – Valhalla: the Vikings battle in 2013. Smith fastest KO came in 22 seconds in a 2010 TriState Cage Fights – Island Warfare bout Both men have achieved impressive results under the banner of the UFC.
