"This crime has been my background," Weiner told the court. "I have no excuse, I have a victim of a youngster who deserved better."
Mr. Weiner was a prominent member of the US Democratic Congress before his resignation in 2011, following the publication of textual, sometimes explicit, sexual messages exchanged with women other than his wife. During his run at the City Hall of New York City in 2013, sexually explicit exchanges with other women were released before he was completely beaten in this race.
Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison and detained on November 6, 2017. He is currently located at FMC Devens, Massachusetts.
His 21-month prison term would have ended in August 2019, and this new release date is now set for May 14, 2019, according to the website.
"This projected release date includes credits for time spent in good behavior and time spent in good behavior during the rest of his sentence," reads a statement from the Bureau of Prisons to CNN.
