ANALYSIS / OPINION:
It is one thing to exercise a First Amendment right to bring the government together and to ask the government for redress – to come together "peacefully" for a protest, as the exact wording of this particular Bill of Rights makes clear.
It is quite another thing to prosecute senators in the corridors of Congress and pro-Kavanaugh politicians in the streets of Washington, D.C.
Go, leftists. Show a meaning.
"GOP senators get police escorts as anti-Kavanaugh protesters invade the Capitol," reads the Washington Examiner.
"Kavanaugh protesters descend on the DC," reads Breitbart.
"US Senator John Cornyn is watching the scene as he is being pursued by protesters at the Hart Building Senate," Getty reported.
"Fusion of Resistance: 302 people were arrested, protesters Chase Cornyn," said Breitbart in another title.
Cornyn, of course, is a Texas Republican, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Supreme Court candidate.
But it's not just in the national capital where crazy people have gone crazy.
In recent days, Kavanaugh Resist types have taken to the streets of some cities in the country, including the offices of the Republican Senators' districts and have left aside all the common sense concerns to express, sometimes with anger and violence, their discontent support the choice of the Supreme Court of President Donald Trump.
They carry signs such as "We believe the survivors", "More rapists in the government" and "F – Kavanaugh". And they boast about their hate.
"We are going to continue to show ourselves and no matter what happens, they can not hold us back," Hollywood comedian Amy Schumer told Sky News, shortly before his arrest, Newsweek wrote. "We are going to win A vote for Kavanaugh is a vote saying that women do not count Let's say it together: Let's fight! Let's keep coming!"
Benny Johnson, the daily caller tweeted From the arrest: "This is how Amyschumer tells the cops that she" wants "to be arrested. The policeman asks, "Do you want to be arrested?" Schumer: "Yes". "
Get ready for the expressions of the false First Amendment scandal to follow, right?
Newsweek unveiled a photo of Schumer taken by police alongside celebrity Emily Ratajkowski.
"Today, I was arrested for protesting against the appointment to the Supreme Court of Brett Kavanaugh, a man accused of sexual assault by several women," Ratajkowski said. wrote on Twitter. "Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power."
The left certainly likes to bask in his hatred.
The most annoying of all these manifestations is that they are carried by lies.
Despite all the talk of sexual mischief by Kavanaugh, no evidence has been brought – no claim has withstood the sun's test. And what a sad commentary on the situation of the left, on the fact that its members are so partisans of partisanship that they are so willing to reject the truth for an assassination of a good old character.
The founding fathers put in place a constitutional principle of the First Amendment based on the right of God to allow citizens to come together and peacefully express their objections to politics and politicians. But they also expected these citizens to be informed of what they protested.
Thomas Jefferson is often credited for stating, "An educated population is a prerequisite for our survival as a free people." The Thomas Jefferson Foundation believes that the attribution is wrong – that the particular quote has never been found in Jefferson's writings. Yet: "This is an exact paraphrase of Jefferson's point of view on education," the foundation wrote.
Oh, that principle was true with this gang of anti-Kavanaugh thugs.
Really, nothing is peaceful, nothing is educated – nothing American – about those who have marched in the streets, in the corridors of Congress, on the steps of the US Capitol in recent days.
Sorry, on the left, shouting at the senators and dropping bombs on Kavanaugh could allow for spectacular TV coverage. But these are not the principles of the American First Amendment. Rather, they are the marks of mental illness.
