Antonella Maria Barba, a former American Idol candidate, was arrested for drug trafficking.

Antonella Barba was arrested on Thursday, October 11 in Norfolk, Virginia. The 31-year-old singer was incarcerated at the Norfolk City Prison and charged with distributing heroin of 100 grams or more.
No link has been established. Barba was scheduled to appear before a judge on Monday, October 15.
According to Norfolk's inmate records, the heroin charge is a class F crime. The State of Virginia applies relatively harsh penalties for the distribution of drugs. In case of conviction, the penalty can range from 5 years to life imprisonment with a fine of one million dollars. However, the maximum sentence does not generally apply to first-time or non-violent offenders.
2. Barba was charged with two minor offenses in 2011 after the police reported that she had stolen the gloves from a Manhattan store
