Alabama's Crimson Tide remains in the top 25 of the week's top six weeks of the Associated Press after Saturday's stellar win over Louisiana Ragin & Cajuns.

Elsewhere, the Ohio State Buckeyes have scored two touchdowns in the last seven minutes to stun their rival, the Penn Ten Nittany Lions, and consolidate their place in the Top 5. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish also won the Top 10 by beating the Cardinal Stanford.

The situation seemed grim for Ohio State after Miles Sanders scored from goal to eight minutes from the end, giving Penn State a 12-point lead. Heisman Trophy nominee Dwayne Haskins led a quick touchdown in three games and 75 yards in just 1:18 to bring the Buckeyes back into the game.

After a Nittany Lions ballooning, the second-year quarterback once again managed, leading OSU on a winning 96-yard win, blocked by a touchdown pass to K.J. Hill.

The Buckeyes should now be favored in all their remaining games, placing them in an ideal position to eventually qualify for the college football playoffs.

The triumph of Notre Dame on Stanford was not as unbalanced as the final score indicates – it was a match to a score early in the fourth quarter – but the Irish did not never trailed and walked away in the last 15 minutes to register a second marquee victory after defeating Michigan Wolverines will open the 2018 campaign.

Head Coach Brian Kelly told reporters that he felt it was the most comprehensive performance of the season's team so far:

"Yeah, I think our kids – you know, when you look at wins, as a football coach, as a head coach, you know, there are always things that we can I think – I like the fact that we finished the We started fast, but we're done, and that's where, as a football coach, when you look at your team, you see a resolution, a mental strength that you are really trying to develop with your group, and we saw that today. "

In other games of Week 5, the Clemson Tigers fought back to avoid a surprise Syracuse Orange, the Washington Huskies easily maneuvered the BYU Cougars, the Westin Mountaineers won a key win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Oregon Ducks defeated the Cal Golden Bears.

The Duke Blue Devils and the Mississippi State Bulldogs were the only ranked teams to lose to undefeated opponents, ahead of Virginia Tech Hokies and Florida Gators, respectively.

Here are some other highlights of week 5 about college football:

In the future, in the weeklong match, the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners will head to Cotton Bowl Stadium on Saturday for the latest edition of the Red River Showdown.

The Miami Hurricanes fighting the Florida State Seminoles, the Maryland Terrapins against Michigan and the LSU Tigers trying to stay unbeaten with a win over Florida are some of the other highlights of the weekend.
