The top four of the top 25 APs remain the same, but voters have restructured the playoff midfield. Georgia gained one place over Clemson after the Bulldogs' victory over Middle Tennessee (49-7). Although there is not much to remember from this win, Clemson has had some problems standing out from Georgia Southern 38-7.

Meanwhile, LSU jumped six places to sixth after beating Auburn, who fell to ninth. Washington and Penn State finished in 10th place. Oklahoma State also climbed nine places to 15th after beating Boise State 44-21. The Broncos came out of the top 25 entirely after the defeat. Wisconsin also fell 12 places to rank 18th after being upset at home by the 25th BYU.
