Gareth Evans is loved for his action franchise "The Raid", and he now hopes to bring the same level of horror show to the next "Apostle". The film, the last of Netflix, equips the director with Dan Stevens, the favorite of the Legion.
"Apostle" takes place in 1905 and follows a prodigal son (Stevens) while he ventures into an island to save his sister from a religious cult. The group is led by the charismatic Malcolm prophet (Michael Sheen), who suspects that the new visitor to the island might not tell the truth about his identity. Lucy Boynton and Mark Lewis Jones co-star.
Netflix has launched the first trailer of "Apostle" below, and it's a crazy introduction to the film's central cult.
