Netflix released the first Apostle trailer of the long-awaited new film by the author / director Gareth Evanswho led the terrific franchise of action Lowering. Evans enters an incredibly different territory, like Apostle is located in 1905 and the stars Dan Stevens as Thomas Richardson, a man who travels to an isolated and idyllic island where his sister is held for ransom by a religious cult. But once Thomas arrives, he finds much more sinister things under the surface.
This trailer is dark, bloody, violent and unbelievably raw, and basically announces that the guy who did Lowering The movies have now made a horror film. Not only that, he had Michael Sheen to give the film its brilliance as its villain, charismatic cult leader of the Prophet Malcolm. Stevens has already proven to be a prominent material with the underrated L & # 39; guest, and it seems more than holding its place here. Add in Sheen's delightful madness and Evans taste for visceral action, and Apostle seems to be all together – especially for genre fans.
